WordPress Favorites

NOTE:  This list will probably shrink, as it’s really too soon for me to pick favorites from these posts.  A lot of what I’ve written, particularly since February, is very near and dear to my heart.  Only time will cure me of that.

Last (and probably least) my favorite posts since joining WordPress.  This was not an easy task, since for most of this period of time I have been in a lot of pain and so a lot of the posts are me trying to deal with that pain.  It doesn’t make for fun reading at all.  But there’s still some good stuff in there.  In a way, the writing is perhaps improved because it’s personal and it’s real.  Still, not exactly a fun trip down memory lane for me.

So here we go…

Things I Miss - Still true.  I really am, in many ways, just a sad little girl who was arrogant enough to believe she couldn’t screw things up, only it turns out she could.  A little like the hubris of the unsinkable Titanic.  This post highlights what I lost because of it.  It’s the little things you don’t appreciate until they are gone.

I Love When Things Come Together - I get a lot of hits from this post, too.  It’s one of my favorites because it highlights something I do in my head a lot but I only blog every so often, which is making connections between things that other people wouldn’t necessarily make.

The Subject Was Roses - My random, stream-of-consciousness writing style at its best. 

Happy Valentine’s Day - Time has made me more bitter.  Compared to how I am now, this is positively optimistic. 

On the Color Pink - Sometimes, I really am such a girl. 

Why Religion - This is a subject near and dear to my heart.  Re-reading this, I’m not entirely sure it’s all that well written, since when I blog I don’t tend to plan or go back and re-read stuff to make sure it’s coherent.  But still, it’s something law related, and figured it was probably at least moderately worth the second link.

Wishful Thinking - A post with a subtitle worthy of Stanely Kubrick.  It’s fiction, but it’s not. 

Not So Much - As close to contrarian as I ever get.

Beginnings and Endings and Writing - Another one that speaks for itself.

The Cockroach - I just really like this post.  And it makes me remember just how much I loved The Pillowman.

Sorry to Disappoint - The most non-dirty post repeatedly using the word “porn” currently in existence on the internet.  I really crack myself up sometimes.

Fountains & Ferris Wheels - Significant mostly because after I typed it the first time, I lost the whole thing and reproduced it a second time largely from memory.  Yes, I’m a freak.

Overheard Allergies - Part of the story of my would-be college boyfriend (would-be because we never actually made it to a second date).

Monday’s Thoughts on the Weekend’s Woes - Proof that I’m not getting better. 

The Jazz Chronicles - My poor, sickly cat.
